German fashion designers – The world is changing and so is the fashion business

By Kristina Flesner

Why are more and more well-known designers joining the QVC “shopping multiverse”?

Designers and fashion designers such as Dawid Tomaszewski, Thomas Rath, Uta Raasch, Annika Schwieger (Anni Carlson) and now Steffen Schraut and Eva Lutz (formerly MINX) are under contract with QVC.

A wide range of exclusive designers who, with their sense of style, know-how and expert knowledge, bring their latest collections directly to customers.

Fashion designer Steffen Schraut has even given up working with his other retail partners for the cooperation and will only sell his fashion collection via QVC from January 2022.

Because here the designers can concentrate fully on what they do best and what they enjoy doing: Creating new styles and collections.

And this joy also spills over to the customers! Because apart from developing the designs, the designers themselves present their own styles in front of the camera together with other fashion experts and are thus available to their customers with personal and individual shopping advice.

It is the mixture of entertainment and inspiration that meets service and advice that is making the company increasingly popular. Customers can have the collections presented to them from the comfort of their sofa, experience the designers’ ideas “live” and even ask questions. Styling tips directly from the designers are included.

QVC is thus becoming more and more important as an online fashion destination – because in addition to the original “teleshopping format,” customers can also order the latest styles and trends via QVC’s own online store or the QVC app. The company’s own social media channels provide additional inspiration and insights into the individual designer brands. A 360° shopping experience, so to speak.

At the beginning of 2020, I already had the pleasure of accompanying Annika Schwieger at the launch of her label “Anni for friends”. Also in her current collection she wants to encourage “women to wear color and beautiful patterns”.

Her collections are thereby completely under the motto “Color up your life”. In focus unique and colorful prints that can be combined with timeless and universal basics. Link.

Dawid Tomaszewski’s QVC label “DAWID by Dawid Tomaszewski” also combines unusual cuts and unmistakable prints with a statement character, even if this style is rather classic. The designer is mainly inspired by art and architecture. Link.

Uta Raasch exudes joie de vivre with her sporty “Strandfein” collection of casual shirts and jeans. All looks exude a sporty, casual elegance. Link.

Here is the webpage of QVC. Link. I have linked the styles directly.

Have a hopefully sunny Sunday!
