At the end of our trip we have been a few days in Washington. On a sunny morning we went to the very nice quarter Georgetown. Georgetown is a district with old and small houses which are all renovated. In downtown Washington there are not many shops apart from some department stores. Therefore Georgetown is the shopping area to go. Of course there are some designer stores. But I was fascinated of all the little and individual shops such as American/Holiday and Via Umbria with gifts, decoration articles, dinnerware and other nice products. At the Via Umbria we also found a nice coffee shop. I saw a lot of antique stores, too.
Attravtive greeting cards, diaries, gift paper etc. I saw at Paper & Source (3019 M St) and made a good bargain with nice Christmas Cards.
For lunch I can recommend Martin´s Tavern (Wisconsin Ave) with delicious meals in a traditional American atmosphere and many local people.
At the end of our tour we had High Tea at the nice Ritz Carlton Hotel which is located in an old industrial building in Georgetown.
