Budersand in Hörnum – relaxed days on Sylt

By Kristina Flesner

Softly I can hear the sea roaring. It has a little bit of a cruise feeling, because the Budersand Hotel on Sylt is located directly at the sea.

Without husband, child, cone and dog I would like to travel with my girlfriend and have the beach and a golf course within walking distance. My travel consultant Jochen Radermacher from Radermacher Reisen recommends the Budersand Hotel for our girlfriend trip this time.

Already on arrival the relaxation begins. Hotel director Marco Winter kindly picks us up from the airport in person and welcomes us in the lobby with an exquisite drop.

In contrast to the Frisian style, the Budersand Hotel is flooded with light. Bright beige tones, high ceilings, yet a warm atmosphere.

In the rear part of the lobby is the bar of the hotel. Actually, Sylt is rather casual, but sometimes you want to dress up. Budersand stands for unagitated luxury with a love of detail.

We enjoy the evening sun and dinner in the vinotheque at a long table with other guests with the appropriate distance.

Chef Felix Gabel spoils us with delicious tartar, lobster bisque and a grilled gilthead with leaf spinach. For dessert, we’re on strike… We spend a super nice evening with great discussions with other guests about politics, charity and of course Sylt.

Due to the current restrictions there is no buffet. Breakfast is served. I could get used to this! Wonderful! On beautiful racks, everyone is brought to the table with their breakfast, selected the evening before, in all its variety. There is nothing missing! On the contrary, the morning begins relaxed, without getting up all the time and sitting “lonely” at the table.

The harbour, where ferries leave for the surrounding islands and the fishermen moor, is in the immediate vicinity. The beach is only a few minutes’ walk away. You can take wonderful walks around the southern tip of Sylt. A mudflat hiking tour is also on the plan.

A links course on a sand dune with a wonderful view of the sea. The Golfclub Budersand is also just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. It is said to be the second most difficult golf course in Germany and has been awarded several times as the best golf course in Germany in the golf trade press.

A few losses for a player like me… but who cares… Well-groomed and a treat for the eye. So beautifully green and by the nature of the soil so different.

Massages, cosmetic treatments, yoga classes and simply rest around the pool, in a relaxation room, on a sheltered terrace or overlooking the sea.

There are many ways to relax at Budersand.

While I “torture” myself in the gym on the Kinesis One and on other TechnoGym machines,

Marion enjoys a white tea on the wooden terrace of the Kai 3 hotel restaurant and looks at the sea. Later she booked a private Yoga lesson. In spring a Yoga week is offered in the hotel.

A large library with a wide selection of books overlooking the golf course is a place to relax as well or for a change of scenery in the home office. Marion is raving and says she would like to stay longer. After all, you could work from the library.

In November there are literature days in the hotel. The lobby is then transformed into a hall where readings and book presentations by well-known authors take place.

The rooms are bright and comfortable. Small attentions please me every day, a cake, a fruit bowl, a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

You can get to town quickly and you don’t need a car. In the harbour in Hörnum we love the Sylter Muscheln Bistro and meet familiar faces from Düsseldorf.

Der Service im Hotel ist ausgezeichnet! Wir verleben wunderschöne Tage im Budersand!

The service in the hotel is excellent! We spend wonderful days at Budersand!

Marco Winter and his team are looking forward to your visit!

By the way, the husband of my friend Marion Bock is the photographer Uwe Erensmann, who is also on Sylt on business and takes the pictures of us.

Here is the Link to Jochen Radermacher of Radermacher Reisen, who has been booking every one of our trips for two years and always has great tips and ideas. We were always super satisfied!
